Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners. It's still a good value particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes. 2. iRobot Roomba X30 The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it simple to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets but it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning. This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxy units This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own). It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads. As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to sleep. It's also quite expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and create more noise. iRobot L20 Ultra The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads. The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to many features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning. Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area. The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
